1. In plain English
Financial Record Rescue is usually where to start if your records feel messy, incomplete, scattered or just hard to make sense of — clearing the financial fog so you know where you stand, what needs attention, and what to do next.
It typically suits up to a year of records and around 300 transactions. For anything bigger, see Paperwork to Plan.
2. Who this might help
This may be a good fit if:
- you have receipts in boxes, bags, envelopes or folders;
- paper records are mixed in with digital ones;
- records are spread across emails, apps, downloads and paperwork;
- some records are missing or uncertain;
- your year-end paperwork is unclear;
- you feel anxious about speaking to an accountant;
- you’re worried about MTD readiness;
- you simply don’t know where to start.
3. What’s included
I can help by:
- sorting and structuring your records;
- creating a document inventory;
- spotting the obvious gaps;
- grouping paperwork by year, account, document type or whatever’s most useful;
- helping you understand what you’ve actually got;
- helping you work out what needs finding, requesting or recreating;
- putting together a practical next-step plan.
4. Not currently included
Not currently included: payroll services and formal tax advice — these will be added once AML supervision is confirmed. Ongoing bookkeeping, VAT return preparation, tax return preparation, accounts preparation and MTD submissions are now available; see the Services page for details.
5. Pricing
Indicative price: from £99. The actual price depends on the scope, volume, complexity, timescale and records involved. See the Pricing page for the full picture.
6. Current service status
HMRC AML registration has been submitted and paid for and is currently awaiting confirmation. MRS Bookkeeping is not a money service business, or a trust or company service provider, so HMRC’s own guidance confirms it can trade while that application is being processed.
Alongside records organisation, bookkeeping-readiness, practical admin support, education and clarity work, MRS Bookkeeping now also offers bookkeeping for client use, accounts preparation, VAT return preparation, MTD submissions and tax return preparation. Payroll services and formal tax advice will be added once AML supervision is confirmed.
For more detail, please see the AML / Service Scope page.
7. Check whether this is the right first step
Use this form to tell me briefly what kind of records you have and what you are trying to get ready for.
You do not need to have everything organised before enquiring. The purpose of Financial Record Rescue is to help identify what you have, what appears to be missing, and where to start.
Please do not upload or paste bank statements, ID documents, tax records or confidential files into this form. A secure handover method will be agreed if we decide to proceed.
8. Before you send documents
Please do not send bank statements, ID documents, tax records, payroll information or other confidential documents until I have confirmed the appropriate secure handover method.
If documents are needed, I will explain what is needed and how they should be provided.
For more information, please see the Data Handling / Client Records Notice.
9. Privacy and records handling
Information you provide will be used to respond to your enquiry and consider whether I may be able to help.
For more information about how personal data is collected, used, stored and shared, please see the Privacy Policy.
For more information about how financial records, paperwork and digital files are handled, please see the Data Handling / Client Records Notice.
10. Before work begins
Submitting a form, sending an email or making a telephone enquiry does not create a client relationship.
No paid work starts without a clear written scope and agreed terms.
What happens next:
- I review your enquiry.
- I may ask a few scoping questions.
- If it looks suitable, I provide a written scope and indicative price.
- No work starts until scope, price and terms are agreed.
