1. In plain English
A Clarity or Next-Step Session is for sole traders, small business owners and landlords who feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure what to do next — a chance to clear the fog and work out where you stand, what needs attention, and what to do next.
2. Who this might help
This might be useful if:
- you know something’s wrong but can’t see where to start;
- your paperwork is stopping you from speaking to an accountant;
- you’re worried about MTD;
- you want to understand what records actually matter;
- you need a practical plan rather than a long report.
3. What a session might help you work out
- what the main issue seems to be;
- what records or information might matter;
- what can be organised now;
- what needs professional advice from an accountant, tax adviser or other specialist;
- what the next sensible step should be.
4. Not currently included
This is general clarity and education work. It is not tax advice, legal advice, investment advice, regulated financial advice or formal accountancy advice.
5. Pricing
Indicative price: from £60 per hour, or a fixed price by agreement. See the Pricing page for the full picture.
6. Current service status
MRS Bookkeeping is supervised by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) for anti-money laundering purposes and is separately registered with HMRC as a tax agent.
Alongside records organisation, bookkeeping-readiness, practical admin support, education and clarity work, MRS Bookkeeping offers bookkeeping for client use, accounts preparation, payroll and PAYE administration, VAT return preparation, MTD submissions and tax return preparation. Formal tax advice remains outside the current service scope.
For more detail, please see the AML / Service Scope page.
7. Before work begins
No paid work starts without a clear written scope and agreed terms.
Before paid work begins, I will normally confirm what is included, what is excluded, the price or pricing basis, expected timescales, and payment, cancellation or refund terms where relevant.
Submitting an enquiry does not create a client relationship.
8. What happens next
- You send a short message about what you’d like to think through.
- I usually reply within 2 business days.
- We agree a time, format and price for the session.
- No paid work starts without a clear written scope and agreed terms.
